The discipline

Three measurements, one defect ID.

    Preconstruction quantity

    Mapped observations converted into measured quantities before mobilization, organized by defect type and unit price line.

  2. 02

    Sounding & opening quantity

    Field verification expands or contracts each area. Every change is tied to the original defect ID rather than absorbed into a lump sum.

  3. 03

    Final repaired quantity

    The repaired area is measured after removal and patch, photographed, and reconciled against the two earlier figures.

Photo record

Five states, one location ID.

Each repair is photographed at the same five stages, filed against the same ID, so the sequence can be reviewed later without reconstructing it from memory.

    Steel exposed, cleaned and treated before patching.

    Surface reprofiled, coated and measured.

Quantified Restoration is a record-keeping discipline, not an approval mechanism. Quantities are presented for review; the Engineer of Record and the contract govern what is approved and paid.

Unit-price quantity control

Each repair type carries its own measured quantity, so a schedule of values stays legible as field conditions change.

Pay application backup

Quantities submitted with the photographs and location IDs that support them, reducing review cycles.

Change-order documentation

Variance between estimated and field-verified quantity is shown per item, with evidence, for the engineer and owner to evaluate.

Visibility and closeout

A running picture of completed versus remaining work, and a final record retained in the association's files.
